Tree Removal for the Slanting Tree

By Chase Dubs

A tree that's already leaning in one specific direction is possibly more threatening when subjected to tree removal than those that are standing upright. It may already be leaning on a specific foundation or item that could potentially be damaged when the tree is made to fall in the direction where it is naturally leaning. If you are a beginner in the field of tree removal, you are far better off leaving the job in the hands of the pro. But if you've had some experience with this task, follow the steps below.

Area Analysis

Follow the first steps of tree removal just as you would with a tree that is standing upright. Take a good look at the site where the tree is situated. Stand back about 25 feet from the tree, and have a look at the direction where it is naturally leaning. While it is recommended to let the tree fall where it is already leaning, there could be foundations that could get in its way which will make you let it fall in the alternative direction.

Establish Wind Direction, Clear Landing Area, and Create Escape Path

The wind direction will greatly affect the falling of a tree. You might want to think about doing it on another day if it is too gusty. Now you have established where to let the tree fall, clear the area of twigs and other items which might get in the way of a seamless landing. As the tree topples down during tree removal, you'll have to run away from it thru a safe trail. Clear it of any debris and other potential difficulties.

Cut the Tree in Manageable Sections

If a tree that you wish to subject to tree removal will get caught in buildings or other plants, cut the tree in sections to make sure that it won't hit anything as it falls down. Utilise a ladder and cut the limbs and branches to make it easier and safer to control during and following its fall.

Throughout these steps, make sure that you are ensuring your safety as well as that of the encompassing utilities. After doing therefore you can give your leaning tree the mandatory cuts that are extensively utilized for upright trees in tree removal.
