Excellent Light Weight Edger - Black & Decker LE750 Edge Hog Electric Landscape Edger Review

By Andrew Parker

Assembly was easy. I highly recommend it.

I was going to purchase a Craftsman edger, but after seeing all the bad reviews, I decided not to go with gas and bought the Edge Hog after seeing all the reviews on Amazon. It propagates by spreading tough, vine-like runners. However, it has a few shortcomings. My results with it have been excellent. Got tired of edging by hand or with a string trimmer, liked the Amazon price and the maker. Assembly was easy. Therefore, it won't work close to obstacles since you can't reverse direction.

This is a powerful easy to use edger. I wasn't even under much of a load at the time and I was using a very heavy duty (10 gauge) extension cord. Another thing is the motor is next to the blade, so the weight is on the ground, NOT on your shoulder!

My husband had it set on the 1inch mark and it easily, I mean EASILY cut thru the grass. It easily cuts the edge around your curbed lawn and with little noise or fuss. It took much less time than I expected, until I hit the nasty neighbor's overgrown mess. This thing was slicing through 3-4 inches of THICK dirt and grass (4 years) growth like it was soft butter.

All of my neighbors are jealous of my perfectly manicured lawn, Very easy to use. Cleaning it out was a piece of cake. Yes, I've discovered that it is entirely possible to spend the entire weekend mowing the lawn. Edging my lawn has been very frustrating.

I found that on bigger projects, you could literally pull up the grass without much problem after using a shovel to ease up the sod. Mine was a refurb, and it's been an excellent buy. Augustine lawn.

Compared to using a string-trimmer for edging, and this edger is much faster gives better results. Best advice to you for first time use on over growth, use a string trimmer to clear over growth, then use the edger. Listen to tunes and edge away! The soil must be relatively dry or clumps of dirt stick in the edger.
